Ghaziabad News: On Thursday, residents of Vasundhara sectors 1, 2, 3, and 4 faced significant inconvenience due to the supply of contaminated water. Over 1,500 people were affected by the issue, which disrupted daily activities and left many households struggling.
Contaminated Water Supply Troubles Residents in Vasundhara
Reports from the residents indicated that the dirty water disrupted household chores, forcing many to purchase water from the market to carry out their daily tasks. The problem is attributed to damaged pipelines, where sewer and water lines run parallel, causing sewage to mix with the water supply. This contamination issue has become a recurring problem, with similar incidents happening once or twice a week.
Despite complaints and temporary fixes by authorities, the problem persists. Additionally, many areas in Trans Hindon Area (THA) experienced low water pressure, further aggravating the situation and leading to public frustration.
Residents in sectors 1, 2, 3, and 4 reported the arrival of dirty water early in the morning. They expressed their difficulties, stating that they had to buy bottled water for drinking and household use, which added to their expenses.
Gaurav Sharma, a local resident, shared his frustration, saying, “We can’t use the water because it’s contaminated. It’s causing a lot of inconvenience.”
Another resident, Devesh Kumar, mentioned, “We have to buy bottled water for drinking because of the dirty water supply. This is adding to our expenses.”
Upon receiving complaints, Somendra Tomar, the Junior Engineer of the Jal Kal Department, assured that a team has been dispatched to investigate and resolve the issue. “We have sent a team to check the complaints and will ensure that the problem is resolved,” Tomar said.
In addition to the water contamination, areas in Indirapuram such as Vaibhav Khand, Nyay Khand, Shakti Khand, and Indraprastha Colony faced issues with low water pressure, further compounding the residents’ woes.
