Ghaziabad News: A significant incident has surfaced from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, wherein it is said that a young girl was sexually assaulted inside the jurisdiction of Link Road police. There was a lot of agitation after the incident, and the suspect’s shop was vandalised by the community. Due to the suspect’s identity, Hindu organisations staged protests at the police station, causing tensions among the community. Police have taken the accused, a scrap metal worker named Faizan, into custody.
Details of Rape Incident in Ghaziabad’s Link Road Area
Faizan reportedly jumped over a wall on Wednesday night to enter the victim’s house without permission. He is charged with rape after allegedly assaulting her physically. With swift action, the police took the accused Faizan into custody.
Violent Protests and Vandalism by Locals
There were violent protests after a sizable crowd assembled to express outrage over the incident and to claim that the girl had been raped by a gang. Along with damaging surrounding cars and setting fire to Faizan’s shop, protesters also caused trouble at the police station. The police, however, have refuted the claims of gang rape and offered details regarding the case.
Police Investigation and Rioters’ Identification
The DCP stated that the entire incident at the police station the previous night was videographed, and strict action will be taken against the rioters. He mentioned that the girl named Faizan in her statement, and a case was registered, leading to his arrest. Despite this, some rioters spread rumors about a gang rape, which led to arson and vandalism. FIRs have been filed against the rioters, and their identification is being done using the video footage.
