Ghaziabad News: Delhi Metro and RRTS Integration Expected in Next Three Months

Ghaziabad News: The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has announced that the first multimodal integration between the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project and the Delhi Metro’s Red Line is anticipated to be completed within the next three months. This integration will connect the RRTS Ghaziabad station with the Delhi Metro’s New Bus Adda Red Line station via a foot-over-bridge.

Delhi Metro and RRTS Integration Expected in Next Three Months

The NCRTC is responsible for constructing the 82km-long RRTS project, which will link the cities of Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut. The 17km priority section of the RRTS project was inaugurated on October 20, and since then, it has been open to the public, serving five stations: Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, and Duhai Depot.

The priority section has received a daily ridership of approximately 8,000 to 10,000 passengers. It is expected to have multimodal integration with other transportation systems like the Delhi Metro and Uttar Pradesh Roadways buses at stations like Sahibabad and Ghaziabad.

NCRTC officials have introduced electric, air-conditioned feeder buses and electric feeder autos to facilitate passengers’ access to and from the RRTS stations. The integration between the RRTS and Delhi Metro is part of an effort to enhance the convenience and accessibility of the transit systems for the public.
