Ghaziabad News: Ghaziabad residents, it’s time to settle your house tax dues before January 31 to avail of a five percent discount. Delaying beyond this date means missing out on the discount, and you’ll be required to pay the full amount in February and March. Moreover, Municipal corporation officials also announce the implementation of a revamped property tax structure, set to take effect from April 1 for the financial year 2024-2025
Collection Figures and Urgent Reminder
The Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam collects property tax from approximately four lakh individuals across the city. Of these, around 1.80 lakh taxpayers are yet to clear their dues for the current financial year. It’s crucial for these individuals to act promptly and settle their property tax obligations before the deadline to benefit from the discount.
Efforts to Raise Awareness
Dr. Sanjeev Sinha, Chief Tax Determination Officer, highlights that this year has seen an increase in property tax collection compared to the previous financial year. To ensure maximum compliance, efforts are underway to raise awareness among those who have outstanding property tax dues. Various communication channels are being utilized to remind and encourage taxpayers to fulfill their obligations on time.
