‘Ground Water Level has affected drastically’
In a report by the UP Ground Water Department, the level of ground water in Ghaziabad city is 24.9 in the year 2016, with the following years it had deteriorated to 31 meters in the year 2022. It is believed that Ground water extraction could be one of the reasons for the low supply.
‘The matter is under investigation and a report will be submitted soon’
Officials also believe that the difference in the demand and water supply has resulted in the dependency of Ground water. According to the officials, the ground water department cannot serve No Objection Certificates for the Ground water extraction. Only people who have applied in the past will get the nod, but they should have the required documents.
