Ghaziabad News: Integration of e-City Buses Enhances Last Mile Connectivity for RRTS Stations

Ghaziabad news

Ghaziabad News: The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has taken steps to enhance last mile connectivity for the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) stations in Ghaziabad.

With a lack of operators applying for feeder bus permits, the NCRTC has integrated the city’s operational AC electric buses with RRTS stations to provide commuters with better connectivity.

These 50 e-buses run on six routes and have been integrated with the major RRTS stations, including Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, and Duhai. The initiative aims to serve RRTS passengers and improve their travel experience.

Routes of 50 air-conditioned electric city buses:

“To facilitate last mile connectivity options for RRTS passengers, the NCRTC in collaboration with Ghaziabad City Transport Services Limited has arranged to integrate the routes of 50 air-conditioned electric city buses operating on various routes in Ghaziabad with the major stations of the RRTS priority section. The e-buses are environment friendly,” said spokesperson from NCRTC.

Additionally, the NCRTC is working on incorporating GPS in these buses to provide real-time updates. This development comes after the inauguration of the 17km priority section of the RRTS project in Ghaziabad by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, connecting five RRTS stations.

Integration of e-buses to benefit daily travelers:

The integration of electric city buses is expected to significantly benefit the daily ridership of 5,000 passengers on this priority section. Furthermore, plans are in place to introduce 150 more e-buses in Ghaziabad in the near future, further improving public transportation in the region.

“These AC electric buses are available between Anand Vihar ISBT and Sahibabad from 6.20am till 9.35pm. These buses are available between Sahibabad and Anand Vihar from 07.05am to 10.20pm. These buses are available at an interval of 20 minutes,” the NCRTC spokesperson said.
