Ghaziabad News: The revised Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Noida Sector-62 to Sahibabad Metro train route is now nearing completion after discussions between the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). GDA is set to allocate 5.5 lakh rupees from pending funds to DMRC, along with issuing a letter of consent for the modified DPR.
Cost of DPR:
This will enable DMRC to initiate the detailing process for the metro route. The total cost of the initial DPR prepared by GDA for this route was 1517 crores, while DMRC has requested an additional 10 lakh rupees for the revised DPR. Once finalized, the revised DPR is expected to cost 10 lakh rupees.
5.5 lakh rupees allocated to DMRC:
GDA’s Chief Engineer, Manvendra Kumar Singh, confirmed the allocation of 5.5 lakh rupees to DMRC and mentioned that the remaining funds would be provided later. Additionally, a letter of consent for the modified DPR will be issued to DMRC. Following the preparation of the revised DPR by DMRC officials, further discussions will take place regarding funding.
Cost to increase due to additional stations:
It is expected that the cost of the metro project may increase from the initial 1517 crores due to potential additional stations. GDA faces the challenge of securing funds for this project, having previously requested 50% funding from the government for the metro train. The current endeavor involves GDA’s renewed efforts to gather funds for the project.
