Ghaziabad News: There’s good news for drivers commuting from Delhi to Meerut! The Delhi-Meerut Expressway now has a much-needed exit ramp thanks to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), which was built with the intention of reducing traffic for those living in Crossing Republik Society and the adjacent neighbourhoods.
No More Long Detours
Previously, motorists from Delhi would have to face a tiresome 10-kilometer diversion all the way to Dasna before they could turn around if they wished to leave close to Crossing Republk Society. In addition to wasting time and fuel, this caused needless traffic on the way back. This problem is completely eliminated by the new exit ramp, which is conveniently positioned outside ABES College, beyond Crossing Republik Society.
Entry Ramp Now Open Too!
The NHAI has also opened an entry ramp close to Crossing Republik Society for vehicles travelling in the direction of Delhi in order to guarantee a smooth two-way traffic. Since its opening two weeks ago, this ramp has allowed locals to completely avoid the traffic jams on NH-9.
Local Residents Rejoice
Residents of Crossing Republik Society and the surrounding neighbourhoods, who had to depend entirely on NH-9 for their journey to Delhi for a considerable amount of time, are relieved that these entry and exit ramps have opened. There were a lot of traffic jams on this road, especially around rush hour, which was quite frustrating and caused delays.
Vision to Reality
The initiative came about as a result of a request made by the locals to Union Minister V.K. Singh. The Minister quickly gave NHAI personnel instructions to deal with the problem after seeing that a remedy was required. Construction work started in February after a site assessment and design approval, and both the entry and exit ramps were completed on schedule.
