Greater Noida News: Tensions escalated in Greater Noida West, Uttar Pradesh, specifically within the Gaur City 14 Avenue area, due to an ongoing dispute concerning the removal of a temple. This dispute sparked a tumultuous situation, with a significant crowd of people assembling within the society premises to voice their opposition. They raised slogans criticizing the management’s decision.
The cause of the protest stemmed from a choice made by the society’s maintenance department
The cause of the protest stemmed from a choice made by the society’s maintenance department, which involved the removal of a makeshift temple and a statue of Lord Hanuman from a parking area. Residents were audibly chanting slogans demanding the return of the Lord Hanuman idol, expressing their belief that the maintenance department was displaying bias against the Hindu community.
The controversy emerged after the builder issued a notice
The controversy emerged after the builder issued a notice regarding the temple’s removal. Although the notice had been given, a temple structure and the revered Hanuman idol unexpectedly disappeared from the parking area.
The builder’s stance on the matter indicated that the decision was based on concerns about the statue’s material – being made of marble – which made it susceptible to damage if accidentally struck by a vehicle. To mitigate this risk, the authorities chose to remove the idol from the parking area.
The removal of the statue triggered a wave of anger among the residents, prompting them to gather on the road and effectively block it in protest. Law enforcement promptly responded to the scene to manage the situation. Eventually, the police officials engaged with the residents, urging them to disperse in a peaceful manner.
