Hapur News: UP’s Khatu Shyam temple issues guildelines on dress code

Hapur News

Hapur News: The Khatu Shyam, a well-known temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur, has issued some rules regarding the correct clothes for visitors to follow.

According to the committee’s directive, worshippers must enter the temple’s grounds dressed appropriately. If ladies are wearing short, ripped clothing, or even night suits, the edict further instructed them to pray from the outside.

“It is a humble request to all women and men to wear decent clothes to the temple. Please have darshan from outside when you come wearing short clothes, half pants, Bermuda, mini skirt, night suit, torn jeans, etc. Please cooperate,” the order read.

Three temples in Uttarakhand had already published instructions for followers. The temples that proposed the dress rule were the Daksh Prajapati Temple in Haridwar, the Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple in Dehradun, and the Neelkanth Mahadev Temple in Pauri.

According to statements made to news agency ANI in June by the secretary of Mahanirvani Akhara and the president of Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad, girls must follow the right dress code and are not permitted to enter the temple while wearing shorts.

He continued by saying that Akhara had pleaded with all those coming to worship that the temple was not constructed for amusement but rather for everyone to reflect in tranquilly.

Additionally, Shrimant Ravindra Puri has asked that women only visit the temple’s grounds if 80% of their bodies are covered.

The Shri Balaji and Shri Shanidev temples in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, had already erected a sign outside the premises on June 12.
