Illegal Constructions Face Demolition in Vasundhara, Ghaziabad

In a significant move, Avas Vikas Parishad, on Thursday, initiated a crackdown on illegal constructions in Vasundhara, Ghaziabad. The action targeted buildings that were erected in violation of approved plans, particularly focusing on multi-storey structures constructed without proper clearance. Notably, builders had purchased single-storey houses and developed multi-storey buildings without obtaining the required permissions.

This latest enforcement comes as a response to builders repeatedly flouting regulations. Despite previous orders to cease construction, builders resumed their activities, leading to the demolition drive by the Avas Vikas Parishad. The authorities expressed concern over the persistent trend of builders breaking ceilings and reconstructing buildings in defiance of regulations.

High Court Order Leads to Intensified Inspection and Demolition Drive

The intensified action follows a High Court order to demolish a multi-storey building in Vasundhara six months ago. The subsequent survey by Avas Vikas Parishad revealed widespread unauthorized construction in Vasundhara and the adjoining Indirapuram area, affecting around five thousand houses. Notably, additional flats were constructed, and these unauthorized structures were sold by builders.

Past Scandal: Officers Face Scrutiny, Investigation Launched

The earlier episode had implicated several Avas Vikas Parishad officials, raising questions about their involvement. Following internal investigations and allegations of corruption, the concerned officers faced inquiries. The recent demolition drive appears to be a renewed effort by the authorities to address and rectify the issue of unauthorized constructions in the region.
