In a video that has spread widely, SP Abhishek Singh from Muzaffarnagar has instructed hotels and vendors on the Kanwar Yatra path to display the names of their owners in front of their shops. This move aims to identify the religion of the shop owners. This directive has sparked varied reactions across the community.
ID Cards for Kanwar Pilgrims
Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh government requested officials from neighboring states to issue ID cards to Kanwar pilgrims from their respective regions. This decision was part of a broader strategy to ensure a safe and organised pilgrimage.
High-Level Meeting for a Safe Pilgrimage
Senior officials from four states and western Uttar Pradesh recently convened in Meerut for an important meeting presided over by DGP Prashant Kumar and Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh. Making sure that the Kanwar Yatra stays safe and tranquil for all pilgrims was the major goal.
