Lucknow News: Extensive preparations have been made at a large scale to educate voters. The municipal corporation will send SMSs to taxpayers who deposit house and water taxes on their mobile phones. This will include an appeal to vote. In addition, sanitation workers will also be seen appealing for votes along with collecting garbage from door to door. Commissioner Roshan Jacob has prepared a schedule of a major activity every day before voting, which can remind voters of their duty.
Commissioner prepares plan to increase voting percentage
Commissioner Roshan Jacob’s initiative comes as a response to the historically low voter turnout observed in recent elections. With an aim to encourage civic participation and strengthen democratic processes, the commissioner has devised a multifaceted strategy to engage citizens across Lucknow. Apart from leveraging technology to reach taxpayers directly, the campaign will also involve community outreach programs, street plays, and interactive sessions to address any concerns or queries regarding the voting process.
Through these efforts, Commissioner Jacob hopes to instill a sense of responsibility
Furthermore, educational materials highlighting the importance of voting and its impact on local governance will be distributed across neighborhoods and public spaces. Through these efforts, Commissioner Jacob hopes to instill a sense of responsibility and ownership among citizens towards shaping the future of their city.
In addition to these initiatives, collaboration with local schools and colleges is also underway to integrate voter awareness programs into the academic curriculum. By targeting the youth, who constitute a significant portion of the eligible voter population, the campaign aims to foster a culture of active citizenship from a young age.
