Lucknow News: IIM Indore and APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University have inked an agreement to empower women in Uttar Pradesh through training in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and leadership.
Under this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the collaboration will involve IIM-I training AKTU teachers, who will then reach out to women in various districts to nurture them into successful leaders and entrepreneurs, particularly those skilled in areas like chikankari and handicrafts.
“We will make at least two AKTU teachers nodal officers in each district. These teachers, preferably of MBA courses, will be trained by IIM-I on how to train women. Thereafter, they will be reaching out to around 100-200 women in their respective districts to transform these women into successful leaders and entrepreneurs,” said IIM-I director professor Himanshu Rai.
Train women who are skilled in chikankari
“We will train women who are skilled in chikankari, handicraft, or any other skill but are unaware of the potential they have, the market and the amount of recognition and financial rewards they deserve for their skills. Also, both institutes will work on entrepreneurship development and incubation centres,” he said.
The partnership encompasses initiatives in academia, with specialized programs for academic personnel, short-term and long-term certificate courses, and research projects. It also extends to social responsibility endeavors and entrepreneurship development, creating a positive impact on communities.
This three-year partnership focuses on knowledge exchange, skill enhancement, and fostering an entrepreneurial spirit for mutual growth.
