Lucknow News: In response to the mounting traffic pressure fueled by a surge in vehicle numbers, the Lucknow Traffic Police takes proactive measures effective December 6. A ban on the entry of heavy vehicles, including petrol/diesel/gas tankers, contract carriages, and construction-related vehicles, is implemented from 9 am to 9 pm within the Commissionerate of Lucknow. Previously granted entry permissions for vehicles supplying essential services no longer apply during these hours.
Stricter Measures for Traffic Optimization: Specifics of the Ban
The press release details the extended restrictions for petrol/diesel/gas tankers, contract carriages, buses with All India Tourist Permit, and heavy vehicles transporting construction materials. These vehicles are now prohibited from entering Lucknow city limits between 6 am and 11 pm. The stringent measures aim to enhance traffic flow and overall road safety.
Traffic Control on Shaheed Path: Commercial Vehicle Restrictions
Lucknow Police’s Traffic Department enforces a ban on all commercial vehicles on Shaheed Path due to increasing accidents. Small to heavy commercial vehicles, including pickups and magic vehicles, are restricted from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm along Shaheed Path (from Kamta Tirahe to Airport Tirahe). The ban includes large commercial vehicles transporting oil, gas tankers, construction materials, and contract carriage private buses (All India Permit buses). However, specific exemptions are outlined for roadways buses, intra-city buses, ambulance/hearse, and hired cabs, taxis, autos, and e-rickshaws on the service lane.
