Lucknow News: The upcoming New Ayodhya Township, spanning 1407 acres on both sides of the Lucknow-Gorakhpur highway, will include a spiritually themed lake view by the Saryu River, with construction assistance from the National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee.
This lake, spread over 430 acres, will be part of the “blue and green corridor” of the township, aimed at relieving congestion in the existing Ayodhya. The project, managed by the Uttar Pradesh Housing Board’s housing and urban planning department, will be expanded by an additional 442 acres in the second phase.
The Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, is expected to lay the foundation stone for the Greenfield Township project prior to the grand opening of the Ram Mandir on January 22, 2024. The new township will be connected to the existing Ayodhya through four link roads, each approximately 4.5 kilometers long.
367 acres have been allocated for residential plots
In the new township, approximately 367 acres have been allocated for residential plots, while 93 acres will be dedicated to group housing. Additionally, 55 acres are earmarked for math and ashrams, and 60 acres will be allocated for guest houses for foreign countries. The township will also include provisions for commercial plots, with 128 acres designated for cottage industries and warehousing. In the initial phase, 28 plots are allocated for mutts and ashrams.
The allotment of plots to mutts and ashrams will be based on a selection criterion, considering their track record, reputation, and current activities. Furthermore, a tower will be constructed in the township, offering a view of the Ram temple.
Inspiration from the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City
The design of the township draws inspiration from the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City, known as the GIFT City. Various states have expressed interest in acquiring land in Ayodhya, with the Uttar Pradesh Housing Board already allocating land to Gujarat for its state guest house in the new Ayodhya township. The board has also received land allotment requests from Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Assam, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, and Arunachal Pradesh.
