Lucknow News: Private Schools in Lucknow to Remain Closed on Tuesday to Mourn Dr. Jagdish Gandhi’s Demise

Lucknow News: In mourning of the passing of Dr. Jagdish Gandhi, the founder of the prominent City Montessori School (CMS) in Lucknow, the Private Schools Association has announced the closure of all private schools in the capital on Tuesday. Dr. Gandhi, aged 88, had been undergoing treatment for an extended illness at Medanta Hospital and passed away on Sunday night due to complications in the cardiorespiratory system. His last rites are scheduled to take place on Tuesday.

Tributes Pour In for Dr. Jagdish Gandhi

Dr. Gandhi, renowned as a distinguished educationist, played a pivotal role in establishing CMS and was internationally recognized for organizing conferences of Chief Justices. The CMS has invited those wishing to pay their respects for the last viewing of the mortal remains on January 23, between 2 PM and 5 PM, at the CMS Gomtinagar Extension auditorium hall.

Closure of Private Schools on January 23

Anil Agrawal, the President of the Private Schools Association in Uttar Pradesh, announced that all private schools, including Anglo-Indian and Missionary schools, will remain closed on January 23 in honor of Dr. Jagdish Gandhi. Additionally, the government had previously declared a public holiday on January 21 and 22 due to the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony.
