Lucknow News: In opposition to the development authority’s proposal to provide a developer a section of the 60,000 square foot park, residents of the Kanpur Road colony of the Lucknow Development Authority have posted signs on their homes announcing their intention to sell.
The plan of the LDA to sell a developer a sizable portion of the park’s property is being opposed by the residents of sector D-1, LDA colony, Kanpur Road. A park covering 60,000 square feet of land was designated by the development authority in the colony’s original layout.
A memo expressing opposition to any changes to the original layout has been delivered by residents to the vice chairman of the LDA. A colony resident named Girish Mishra brought up the fact that the development authority had attempted to sell property in the park to a developer back in 2013, but the plan had to be discontinued because of strong objections from the community.
Additionally, locals intend to bring up the matter with Rajeshwar Singh, a BJP MLA.
