Lucknow News: School Principal Suspended and Teachers Warned Following Namaz Controversy

In Lucknow News: Thakurganj area, a primary school’s principal has been suspended, while two teachers received warnings after a video circulated on social media showing some students performing namaz within the school premises. This incident prompted protests from certain Hindu groups in Lucknow, leading to an official investigation into the matter.

Official Statement and Probe

Basic Siksha Adhikari Arun Kumar, addressing the issue, stated that they received information indicating that unidentified individuals engaged in activities unrelated to teaching were present at Primary School, Napier Road. Teachers confirmed that some students had offered namaz on a Friday, contravening departmental directives and guidelines. The investigation of this matter was carried out by Block Education Officer Dinesh Katiyar.

Suspension and Warning

Based on the findings of the investigation, School Principal Meera Yadav was promptly suspended on Saturday under the Uttar Pradesh Government Servant (Discipline and Appeal) Rules of 1999. Additionally, teachers Tehzeen Fatima and Mamta Mishra were issued stern warnings for their involvement in the incident.
