ATS and district police have arrested 74 Rohingya citizens living illegally in six districts of the state. As part of the operation conducted last night, 31 Rohingyas have been arrested from Mathura, 17 from Aligarh, 13 from Hapur, 4 from Ghaziabad and 2 each from Meerut-Saharanpur. Apart from this, five children have also been recovered from Meerut and Hapur. Maximum 31 Rohingya citizens have been arrested in Jaint area of Mathura police station.

On the instructions of Special DG Law and Order and Crime, Prashant Kumar, ADG ATS along with the district police had got the Rohingya citizens, who were staying in different districts, verified. Thereafter, on Sunday night, a campaign was launched to arrest Rohingya citizens living in six districts by raiding their hideouts. All of them were living in slums in different districts after crossing the border illegally.
ATS has also recovered all suspicious documents from them, which are being investigated. The involvement of all these in anti-national activities is also being investigated. UP ATS has been running a campaign to arrest Bangladeshi and Rohingya citizens living illegally for the past several months.
During this, the case of human trafficking has also come to the fore. After illegally crossing the border, Bangladeshi and Rohingya citizens are made fake documents of their Indian citizenship. After that, on the basis of these documents, their Indian passport is made and sent abroad.
