Indian Meteorological Department Forecasts Further Dip; Minimum Temperature Expected to Fluctuate Between 6-7 Degrees
Lucknow experienced its coldest morning of the season as the mercury plunged to 6.5 degrees Celsius, attributed to westerly winds. The city recorded a notable drop in temperatures, with the maximum reaching 15.3 degrees Celsius, marking a more than 5-degree decrease from the previous day.
Weekend Chill: Minimum Temperature Forecasted to Fluctuate Between 6-7 Degrees
According to Mohd Danish, the Met Department in-charge for Lucknow, the minimum temperature is expected to fluctuate between 6 and 7 degrees for the next three days, including the weekend. Post this period, a gradual rise in morning temperatures may occur.
Foggy Outlook: Visibility Drops to 50 Meters; Improvement Expected Post Weekend
The city is likely to witness persistent fog, reducing visibility to about 50 meters. However, after the weekend, improvements in visibility during late night and early morning hours are anticipated, providing some relief to commuters.
Westerly winds, typical for this time of the year after the passage of western disturbances in December, are contributing to the prevailing chill. The Indian Meteorological Department has forecasted dry weather for the state.
Agra recorded a minimum temperature of 4.7 degrees Celsius, while Kanpur City and Lakhimpur Kheri felt the chill at 5 degrees Celsius. Moradabad and Najibabad witnessed the lowest maximum temperatures at 12.8 and 13 degrees, respectively.
