Meerut News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched India’s first Rapid Rail, Namo Bharat, at Sahibabad station on Friday. During the inauguration, he announced that the Delhi-Meerut section of the Rapid Rail will be ready within a year.
Accelerated Progress on Rapid Rail to Meerut
- The Prime Minister emphasized that the Meerut section of the Rapid Rail will be completed within a year.
- With 75 percent of the work from Duhai to Meerut South station already completed, the Rapid Rail is on track to commence operations by March next year.
Advancements in Rapid Rail Infrastructure
- After the inauguration of the Rapid Rail from Sahibabad to Duhai, efforts have been intensified to extend the Rapid Rail network from Duhai to Meerut South.
- The construction of Muradnagar, Modinagar South, Modinagar North, and Meerut South stations is part of Package-3.
- A 25 km long viaduct construction for this corridor had already been completed.
- A total of 50 km of tracks, including up and down routes, are being laid in this section.
- Construction for all stations from Duhai to Meerut South has now entered the next phase.
- Notable progress includes the completion of slab casting for the concourse and platform level at Muradnagar station, along with ongoing finishing work.
- Construction work at both Modinagar South and Modinagar North stations is in progress, with the slab casting for the concourse level completed.
The Prime Minister assured the public that he would return next year to inaugurate the Rapid Rail, marking an exciting advancement in transportation infrastructure.
