Noida News

Noida News: The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has issued orders to take stringent actions against motorists who do not adhere to traffic rules. Failure to comply may result in the cancellation of driving licenses. Despite the introduction of e-challans, many individuals are not paying fines, unaware that penalties have been imposed. In Gautam Buddha Nagar district alone, 16,97,643 e-challans have been issued in the past 11 months, amounting to a fine collection of ₹94,54,700.

Cracking the Whip on Rule Violators

The government’s recent directive in Uttar Pradesh states that drivers with more than three traffic violations will face license cancellation. The Chief Secretary has emphasized the initiation of license cancellation proceedings against such offenders. With road accidents being a concern, the Chief Secretary has conducted meetings with district officials and instructed various departments to work towards reducing accidents. Additionally, critical care facilities will be inspected periodically to enhance road safety.

Registration Cancellation for Persistent Offenders

Notably, a new rule has been introduced, allowing the cancellation of licenses for individuals accumulating more than three traffic violations. If offenders persist, their vehicle registrations will also be canceled.

In light of the situation, the government aims to promote road safety by reducing accidents by 50% in road safety weeks held from December 15 to 31, including vehicle inspections and other necessary measures.
