Noida News: In a major infrastructural development, a high-speed rapid rail project aims to significantly reduce the travel time between Noida International Airport and Indira Gandhi Airport. The proposed rail service is expected to enable passengers to complete the journey in approximately 45 minutes, with the train operating at a swift speed of 140 kilometers per hour.
Detailed Project Report (DPR) Overview
A detailed project report (DPR) has been meticulously prepared to outline the connectivity between Noida Airport and the rapid rail system, known as Namoh Bharat/Metro. The proposed routes include Ghaziabad, Greeno West, Surajpur, Pari Chowk, and Yeida City. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is spearheading the project and is set to submit the DPR to the Yamuna Authority by April 4th.
NCRTC’s Operational Involvement
In a significant operational shift, the NCRTC will not only oversee the project’s development but also manage the operation of the rapid rail and metro services. This marks the first foray of NCRTC into metro operations, adding a new dimension to its role in regional transport.
Stations and Future Expansion
The high-speed rapid rail will feature select stations along its route, with an initial count of 25 stations. Future plans include the possibility of expanding the station network to 38. Minor adjustments to the alignment have been made based on the findings of the feasibility report and DPR, contributing to the efficiency and viability of this transformative transportation project.
