Noida News: An elderly man, Janak Dev Shah, tragically lost his life in Noida early Sunday morning after being struck by a speeding Audi. The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 am near Kanchenjunga Apartment in Noida’s Sector 24 area while Shah was crossing the road.
Details of the Incident:
According to the police, CCTV footage captured the moment when the Audi came speeding towards Shah, hitting him with such force that he was thrown several feet into the air before landing on the ground. The footage has been crucial in understanding the sequence of events.
Immediate Response:
Upon receiving an alert about the accident, a team from the Sector 24 police station promptly arrived at the scene. They took custody of Shah’s body and sent it for a postmortem examination.
Police Actions:
A case has been registered against the Audi driver under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Speaking to the media, a police officer provided more details: “On May 26, at around 6:30 am, Janak Dev Shah, a resident of Gijhoud village near Primary School, Sector 53, Gautam Buddha Nagar, was hit by an unknown white car driven at high speed in the Sector 24 police station area. He succumbed to his injuries on the spot. The body has been taken into custody by Sector 24 police and a postmortem has been conducted. An FIR has been registered based on a complaint. CCTV footage is being checked, and further necessary action is being taken.”
Ongoing Investigation:
The Noida police are currently examining the CCTV footage to identify the driver and gather more evidence. Further actions will be taken based on the findings from the ongoing investigation.
