Noida: The state government of Uttar Pradesh is exploring options to develop a RapidX corridor between Delhi with the under-construction Noida International Airport in Jewar. The plan was discussed officially during a meeting chaired by chief secretary D.S Mishra in Lucknow. Apart from the RapidX project, officials have been directed to prepare a design for a monorail between airport and Delhi.
Rising Costs of Project
The plan to connect Noida Airport with New Delhi railway station is happening on lines with Delhi’s Express line. The mounting costs of project is presenting hurdles for construction of a metro connectivity, with estimated cost of 350 crore rupees per kilometer. According to estimates, a monorail project would cost 70 crore rupees per kilometer while a RapidX line can be built for 250 crore rupees per kilometer.

No planned routes yet
The officials have also clarified that as of now there are no routes planned for either monorail or RapidX link. The NCR transport corporation is currently working on Delhi-Meerut RapidX project. The 17 km Sahihabad-Duhai is likely to become operational within few weeks.
