Noida News: The airport’s first phase of construction is now ongoing and is expected to be finished in time for commercial operations by September 2024.
The future Noida International Airport (NIA) near Jewar will be expanded in three phases, and the Uttar Pradesh government has reportedly announced plans to buy an additional 2,053 hectares of land for this purpose.
Arun Vir Singh, the CEO of Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL), stated that a total of 1,888 hectares of land from 14 villages in Gautam Buddh Nagar’s Jewar tehsil will be purchased. Gautam Buddh University will carry out the SIA, and it will be finished by August 30.
“The notification for acquisition of 2,053 hectare of land for the third phase expansion of the airport was issued last week. Land for the first phase (1,365 hectares) and second phase (1,334 hectares) has already been acquired,” said Singh.

“As per the development plan of the airport, three runways would be developed in the third phase of the project, in addition to three runways that would be built during the first and the second phases of construction,” the IAS officer said.
The airport’s first phase of construction is already under way, and it should be finished in time for commercial operations in September 2024.
The public-private Greenfield airport is being built around 75 kilometres outside of Delhi by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPAL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Swiss company Zurich Airport International AG.
According to the notification, the right to fair compensation and transparency in land acquisition, rehabilitation, and resettlement (Uttar Pradesh) Rules, 2016, will be used to purchase the land for the third phase only with the approval of the landowners.
