Days before the highly anticipated consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, a fraudulent scheme has emerged, exploiting devotees seeking to contribute donations. Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) spokesperson Vinod Bansal exposed the scam on social media, cautioning individuals about cybercriminals using fake IDs to deceive people under the guise of fundraising for the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra.

Unveiling the Scam

VHP leader filed a complaint revealing that a miscreant named Abhishek Kumar is circulating a QR code on social media, purportedly collecting funds for Ayodhya temple development. Upon scanning the code, the UPI directs users to an account under the name Manisha Nallabelly.

Official Clarifications and Complaint to Authorities

Despite repeated clarifications by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust that no private individuals are authorized to collect funds for the temple, the scam persists. Vinod Bansal, in his complaint to the union home ministry and police chiefs of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, urged prompt action against such fraudulent activities.

Prime Minister’s Cautionary Appeal

As the consecration ceremony approaches from January 16 to 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi issues a cautionary plea. He urges devotees not to visit the temple on January 22, the consecration day, citing logistical and security challenges. Instead, he encourages them to light a diya at home, emphasizing the significance of waiting a bit longer after over 550 years.
