The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) has announced that two roads connecting the Noida international greenfield airport in Jewar to the Yamuna Expressway and Delhi-Mumbai Expressway are expected to be completed by the end of March 2024.
Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to Be Completed by March 2024
- A 75m wide and 8km long link road connecting Jewar airport to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will be completed by March 24, 2024, with approximately 50% of the work already completed.
- Another 8.5km link road connecting Noida airport to the Yamuna Expressway for cargo purposes is in the process of selecting a company for construction.
These road developments are aimed at enhancing connectivity to the Noida international airport, which is expected to become functional ahead of its scheduled deadline of September 29, 2024. Phase one of the airport will serve 12 million passengers annually, with plans to increase capacity to 70 million passengers by phase four. The first phase includes the construction of a passenger terminal, a runway, and aircraft stands, and work is progressing rapidly at the site.
