Jewar International Airport: Noida's Jewar International Airport Limited (NIAL) has initiated its first trial run, marking a major step in its development. The trial run began on Monday, and a video of an aircraft on the runway has been released to highlight the progress. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will record flight data during the trial, which continues until December 15.

The airport plans to launch cargo services by April 2025, as per the timeline shared by the authorities. The trial run aims to identify and fix any operational issues before commercial services begin.   1. State-of-the-Art Runway: The airport's completed runway spans 3.9 kilometers in length and 60 meters in width.
  2. Inauguration and Development: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the project in 2021. The facility is being developed by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG.
  3. Strategic Importance: Located in Gautam Buddh Nagar, the airport aims to reduce congestion at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport and boost regional connectivity.
  4. Massive Scale: Spread across 1,334 acres, the airport is expected to become a key aviation hub, driving economic growth and enhancing tourism.
