Singh is heard on the audio requesting 5 kg of “aloo” from the farmer in order to resolve an ongoing legal dispute. Surprised by the demand, the farmer offered him 2 kg instead. The policeman persisted on at least 3 kilos, though, and ultimately they came to an understanding.

Reacting to the widespread public outrage, Kannauj Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Kumar Anand took immediate action, suspending the sub-inspector and launching a departmental investigation into the matter.

Departmental Probe Launched

The crime is being investigated by Kamlesh Kumar, the CO of Kannauj. Police also issued a statement confirming the suspension and reaffirming their commitment to maintaining law and order, which highlighted the gravity of the charges. The purpose of the inquiry is to determine the full extent of the event and guarantee that the proper steps are done.
