Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday offered prayers at the Gorakhnath temple on the Navami of Shardiya Navratri by washing the feet of nine girls and one Batuk Bhairav, symbolizing the nine forms of Mother Bhagwati.
After that he served food with his own hands. Then bid them farewell with Dakshina. During this, gifts and dakshina were given to other girls and batuks who reached the temple.
The Chief Minister bathed the feet of nine unmarried girls, offered them chunari, performed aarti, fed them, then took their blessings by giving dakshina and gifts. On Tuesday morning, Kanya Poojan rituals took place in the dining room located on the first floor of the Math.
The Chief Minister traditionally washed the feet of nine unmarried girls in a brass vessel, with water filled in a silver vessel. He applied tilak of Roli, sandalwood, curd, Akshat, Durva on his forehead. By wearing chunari, giving gifts and dakshina, took blessings and performed the aarti.
After the worship, CM Yogi served fresh food cooked in the kitchen of the temple to more than a hundred girls and small children.
