UP Electricity New rates: By announcing the new prices for the current fiscal year 2022–2023 on Saturday, the Uttar Pradesh government greatly relieved the state’s electricity users. The highest slab of Rs.7 per unit for urban consumers has been eliminated by the Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government, and it has been capped at Rs.6.50 per unit.
Additionally, a 10% cut in electricity prices for customers who has been declared under the purview of Noida Power Company.
The UP Energy Regulatory Commission (UPERC) has issued a fresh notification informing home BPL consumers in metropolitan areas of the northern state that they will henceforth pay 3 per unit for using up to 100 units of electricity. The tariff was formerly set at 3.50 rupees per unit up to 100 units, but it has been reduced by 50 rupees.
However, the UP Electricity New rates stated that the tariff up to 100 units does not change in rural areas.
Customers in both rural and urban areas have received a concession of 50 paise for using more electricity than 300 units.
