At the Global Hospital and Trauma Center located in Jhalwa area of Dhumanganj police station area in Sangam city Prayagraj, the administration has started tightening the noose on the hospital in the case of the death of the patient after giving fake platelets to a dengue patient. Prayagraj Development Authority has sent a notice to the accused private hospital to vacate the hospital by October 28. This notice has also been pasted outside the hospital by the authority. The PDA has sought a reply from the hospital administration on the notice in three days. In case of non-satisfactory response from the hospital administration, a warning has been given to bulldozer the building constructed illegally.
Prayagraj Development Authority has found in the investigation that the map of the building of the accused hospital has not been passed. The building has been constructed without passing the map and the hospital is being operated indiscriminately. According to Prayagraj Development Authority’s OSD Abhinav Ranjan, if a satisfactory answer is not given within the stipulated time, the demolition action will be implemented.
It is worth noting that on October 14, Pradeep Kumar Pandey, a dengue-infected patient, was admitted to the Global Hospital and Trauma Center. The patient needed a platelet transfusion. 3 units of platelets were given by the relatives brought from SRN Hospital, which were also given to the patient and his condition was fine. The patient’s platelet count also reached 49 thousand. But after this, five units and platelets were demanded by the hospital administration, which the family members were not able to arrange. After this, an employee of the hospital arranged for 5 units of platelets through brokers for 25 thousand rupees.
Accused of mixing seasonal juice in platelets
The patient’s condition started deteriorating only after one unit of this platelet was transfused. The relatives allege that it was fake platelets and seasonal juice was mixed in it. When the patient’s condition deteriorated, he was referred to the Heart Care Center where he died on 19 October. The matter was complained to the CMO, after which on the instructions of the DM, the CMO got the matter investigated by a three-member inquiry committee. The hospital was sealed on October 20 after the negligence of the hospital came to the fore in the investigation. At the same time, while taking action in the case of gang selling fake platelets, 10 accused were arrested on October 21.
