There is lot of excitement in Uttar Pradesh official circles on the upcoming Global Investors Summit -2023 , which will be held in Lucknow from February 10-12. This summit is expected to play a major role in achieving ambitious target of 1 Trillion Dollar economy set by UP government by 2027.
Aim – To increase Uttar Pradesh’s Gross State Domestic Product to 1 Trillion Dollars in five years
The Uttar Pradesh government is going all out to make this Investors Summit a huge success. In order to achieve this, it has chosen to send 48 retired IAS, IPS, and IFS officers as well as outstanding serving academicians to tour 61 prominent universities in the state and engage with the students.

Senior retired Officials and Academicians are being associated with the Youth to make this Global Investor Summit a Grand Success
During their visits to universities, they will educate students on the policies and programmes of the UP government that aim to draw in investment and increase Uttar Pradesh’s Gross State Domestic Product to a trillion dollars in the following five years.
Furthermore, the UP government has agreed to hire 105 postgraduates (with a minimum 60% in computer skills) as Udhyami Mitras (friends of investors).
The Mukhya Mantri Udyami Mitra Yojana would hire Udyami Mitras on a contractual basis for a term of one year in exchange for paying them a monthly sum of Rs 70,000 plus allowances (extendable by one more year). The state cabinet approved this scheme on January 28.
They would be deployed to various districts, development authorities, and the Invest UP headquarters in Lucknow.
To make sure that the investment proposal gets off the ground, the Udhyami Mitra’s job will be given tasks to coordinate with investors and departments while also taking investors to project sites.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is leading from the front in making Global Investor Summit an historic success. This is for the first time that senior officials and serving academicians are being associated to involve youngsters in making the GIS a grand event. A daylong orientation programme will be held in Chief Minister Yogi Adtiynath’s residence.
Uttar Pradesh has set a target to raise investments of Rs 17 lakh crore through UPGIS 2023. Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath is committed to making Uttar Pradesh not only a destination for tourists but also the growth engine of the country.
Prime Minister Modi and President Draupadi Muru may attend the opening and closing ceremonies as Chief Guests
More than 20 Union Ministers and global investors are expected at the event. Prime Minister Modi and President Draupadi Murmu could be the main guests in the opening and closing ceremonies, respectively.
Among the Union ministers set to attend the conference are the home minister Amit Shah, the finance minister Nirmal Sitharaman, and the defence minister Rajnath Singh.
