UP News: On Saturday, a terrible catastrophe occurred in the Bulandshahr area of Uttar Pradesh, injuring 27 persons and leaving 10 dead. The collision happened close to the Salempur police station between a pickup van and a bus carrying passengers.
Immediate Response from Authorities
Upon receiving the tragic news, the District Magistrate (DM), Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), and other top officials rushed to the scene. The injured were swiftly transported to a regional hospital, with some being referred to Meerut for further treatment due to the severity of their injuries.
Raksha Bandhan Journey Ends in Tragedy
According to media reports, the people inside the pickup van were workers for a company located in Ghaziabad. Their trip to celebrate the Raksha Bandhan celebration was brutally interrupted when they collided with the bus while travelling to Aligarh. Ten passengers died instantly as a result of the collision.
High-Speed Collision Leads to Disaster
The pickup van was struck by a speeding private bus that was trying to pass another car when the collision happened near the Salempur police station. At the time of the crash, the van, which was carrying 20–22 passengers, was heading from Shikarpur towards Bulandshahr.
