UP News– Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has unveiled an ambitious plan to make Uttar Pradesh the country’s first ‘Zero-Poverty’ state within the next year. The government is leveraging digital technology to expedite the identification and support of the poorest families in rural areas, ensuring rapid delivery of welfare schemes.
A Zero Poverty portal and various mobile apps will be central to the campaign, enabling quick identification and on-site verification of families in need. This digital system will allow seamless monitoring of the entire process, from the district level up to the state level, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Digital Tools to Drive the Campaign
As part of the initiative, the central portal, http://zero-poverty.in, will serve as the hub for all departments involved in the campaign. Each department will have its own subdomain, such as http://rd.zero-poverty.in for the Rural Development Department, and http://basic-education.zero-poverty.in for the Basic Education Department. This structured approach will ensure easy access and navigation, with a clear list of departments displayed on the portal.
Mop-up Mobile App for Field Work
For fieldwork, a specially designed Mop-up mobile app will be used to identify and verify the poorest families. Village-level employees, along with committee members and officials, will use the app for data collection in remote areas. This ensures that even those without access to computers can actively contribute to the campaign.
By integrating cutting-edge technology with its social welfare programs, the UP government aims to accelerate the elimination of poverty, providing timely support to those who need it most.
