The Yogi Adityanath-Led Uttar Pradesh Government has banned loudspeakers and loud music at weddings on Saturday in response to the Supreme Court’s ruling.

Now, one must get authorization from the appropriate magistrate, carry the form to the local police station, and from there to the traffic police in order to play loud music or hire a DJ at weddings or other events. The magistrate will need to see the form once more to provide his or her final approval.
Grooms running pillar to post get permission for band from Magistrate
Since a member of the immediate family must get permission in this instance, it has been seen that the grooms are typically the ones doing the errand-running.
Many of the grooms have expressed the opinion that delaying getting band approval has affected their other wedding preparations and that they have other vital things to complete in addition to getting band clearance.

This Wedding Season – Greater demand than supply for band groups
In addition to getting permission, finding a band for the “baraat” is a challenge.
The band business suffered during the Covid-19 pandemic, and the majority of the band members have changed profession.
In the season with an exceptionally high number of weddings taking place, the demand for band members is outpacing the supply.
In Lucknow, there are between 1000 and 1500 weddings per day, according to estimates.
Due to the pandemic, many weddings were postponed, creating a significant backlog. Due to a lack of available locations, people are getting married in farms approximately 20 km outside of the city. Priests claim that they cannot solemnise as many marriages in a day due to the great distances.
