Uttar Pradesh: 12-year-old girl mauled to death by a tiger in Bahraich

Uttar Pradesh: A tiger killed a 12-year-old girl in Bahraich close to the Chakia Forest range.

About the incident

Anjani, the daughter of Totaram Chauhan of Jigania village, was attacked by the huge cat late on Saturday afternoon as she and other locals were grazing goats near the Saryu canal. The girl was pulled into the forest by the tiger.

The incident had been reported to the Motipur police and the forest department, according to village chief Rais Khan.

Body has been sent for post-mortem

Later, the police and representatives of the forest department located the dismembered body 700 metres away and sent it for a post-mortem.

Financial aid would be given to the deceased person’s kin after the post-mortem report is received, according to forest officer Pradeep Singh.
