Uttar Pradesh: 5 arrested in Lucknow for lowering electricity metre reading

Uttar Pradesh: Five people were arrested in Lucknow’s Ashiyana by a special task force of UP Police for lowering the readings on the city’s electricity metres reading.

To lower the metre readings, they would add chips and other gadgets, which would cost a lot of money from the public.

In addition to the 3 electric machine magnetrons used to break the metre display from the arrested accused, authorities also found 578 power metres from various companies, 65 remote controls, and 539 chips.

The five people arrested have been named as Raman Gautam, Satish Sharma, Ali Umar, Arjun Prasad, and Sonu Pal, also known as Sameer of Ashiana.

Further investigation in the case is underway.
