Uttar Pradesh: Dogs from dangerous breeds attacking people have been going in headlines in recent months, leading many owners to try to surrender their pets. By leaving the dogs outside at night, their owners are also getting rid of them. Among these, the German Shepherd and Pitbull breeds have the most canines. These folks are unaware that the Cruelty to Animals Act allows for legal action against them.
Government is working to ensure concerned department has complete information
In the recent months, numerous films of dogs attacking kids, seniors, delivery guys, and other people in elevators, parks, and roadways have gone viral from Noida-Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, and other locations. Many are angry with these hazardous dogs now that these recordings have gone viral. The government and administration are working to ensure that the concerned department has complete information on the residences where these dangerous dogs are housed, as well as information about dog vaccinations and registration, in an effort to prevent such incidents.

For this reason, the rules and regulations that were previously set are now carefully adhered to. More than 500 calls from all around the country asking dog owners to leave their dangerous breed canines with the NGO were made to Noida’s “Home of Stray Animals” NGO in the recent months.
According to the Nonprofit, there is not enough room for them to keep so many dogs together. Because of this, the Charity is conveying to the public through its counselling teams that if the dogs are properly trained and cared for, occurrences like these won’t occur.
Supreme Court’s rules allow you to have a dog
People used to contact the NGO and Sanjay Mohapatra, who founded the “Home of Stray Animals” NGO, to leave their dogs when dog bite incidents in Delhi-NCR were on the rise. He claimed that the Charity used to advise and inform the public that dogs need to be properly cared for and that people shouldn’t be afraid of them. The Supreme Court’s rules allow you to have a dog, the most devoted companion a human can have, with you, according to Mohapatra. The process of registering canines with the Noida Authority and Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation has advanced recently. The Noida Authority gave owners until January 31 to register their dogs.
70 different dog breeds are raised
Anyone who keeps a dog or cat as a pet without registering it will face legal action and a fine. Also, people are registering their dogs online. Out of the 5,000 registrations that have been completed thus far, more than 50% involve dogs that are thought to be of dangerous breeds. Throughout the city, there are around 20,000 dogs. Throughout the city, 70 different dog breeds are raised. Exotic and dangerous dog breeds including Pitbull, Rottweiler, Boxer, German Shepherd, Great Dane, and Bull Mastiff are among the registered canines.

Process of sterilising dogs is not being done effectively
Yogendra Sharma, head of the organisation that oversees all Residents Welfare Associations in Gautam Buddh Nagar, told IANS that the government and district administration should enact stricter dog ownership regulations to ensure that individuals abide by them. Units that sterilise stray canines should be expanded at the same time. Only two units are now performing this work in Noida, he claims. Because of this, more stray dog bite instances are being recorded in addition to domestic pet dog bites. This is because the process of sterilising dogs is not being done effectively. In Noida, the district hospital receives reports of over 100 dog bite cases every day, while the entire district receives reports of roughly 500 dog bite cases.
