Uttar Pradesh: During Lucknow’s New Year celebrations, at least 98 people were injured in vehicle accidents and confrontations.
87 of these were road accident victims who were brought to government and hospital emergency rooms throughout the city.

65 traffic accident cases at King George’s Medical University on December 31 and January 1
On December 31 and January 1, the trauma centre at King George’s Medical University (KGMU) received the greatest number of 65 traffic accident casualties.
Three persons admitted to the trauma centre are stated to be in severe condition due to head injuries.
Prof Sandeep Tiwari, the centre’s Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS), stated: “At least 15 of the 65 patients appear to be cases of drunk driving. The condition of three of these patients is critical.”
According to Dr. Vikram Singh, Medical Superintendent (MS) of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS), ten road accident victims were taken to the hospital in the early hours of the New Year.

The majority of them had fractures and head injuries.
According to Dr Nitin Mishra, casualty officer at SPM Civil Hospital, the hospital received six road accident victims, one of them had a brain injury and was transported to KGMU.
The emergency unit at Balrampur hospital also received five patients who were injured in car accidents. The individuals received treatment for brain injuries, fractures, and other injuries.
Six occurrences included minor brawls in which people were treated at BRD and Railway hospitals for minor injuries.
Because some government hospitals also serve patients from neighbouring regions, a few instances may have originated there.
