Uttar Pradesh: Six persons were arrested by Bareilly Police in the Aonla area, including four members of the same family, on charges of making and selling opium and smack in Noida and Delhi.
To tackle illegal drug trafficking in the area, the Narcotics Task Force and Bareilly police organised a joint action squad. Large quantities of smack and opium worth thousands of dollars were found on the arrested individuals from the Lakshyapur hamlet in the Aonla tehsil during the operation.
Rahul Bhati, Superintendent of Police (SP) City, stated that the police were informed that Kalyan, also known as Kallu, a resident of the Lakshyapur village, has been producing smack and opium for a considerable amount of time. He has been distributing the narcotics to several areas, including Noida and Delhi.
Who all were arrested?
Kalyan alias Kallu, his wife Kamlesh, their son Naval Deepak, as well as Gavendra and Heera Lal, were all arrested.
In addition to 4 kg of opium, 16 kg of raw opium, and smack, police also found Rs 4.5 lakh in cash. Moreover, equipment used to make opium, chemical and gas cylinders, and other items were also found.
300 grammes of smack and Rs 50,000 in cash were seized by police from Kalyan. Moreover, 100 grammes of smack and Rs 45,000 were taken from Hiralal.
