According to police, a truck that was moving too fast crushed a family’s home in this village, killing three people, including two women.
The incident happened on Friday night at a residence in the Sarai Bahelia village near the Lucknow-Varanasi route, during a family gathering.
When a speeding truck lost control and smashed into their home, trapping and injuring the home’s owner Abdul Jabbar (60), his daughter Shaheen Bano (27) and sister-in-law Safia Bano (62), they were all seated in the verandah.
The police arrived at the scene and saved them after receiving word from the villagers. The officer said, “The trio was rushed to a hospital here, where doctors pronounced them brought dead.”
The driver who fled capture after the incident is being sought. Later, a crane was used to move the truck to the police station, according to the police.
They said, “The bodies have been sent for postmortem.”
