CM Dhami meets PM Modi, seeks ‘economic package’ for Joshimath crisis

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met PM Modi today on Monday. In this formal meeting, CM Dhami demanded an economic package of about Rs 2943 crore from PM Modi for relief to the people affected by landslides in Joshimath area and then for displacement from the land. During this, many other issues were also discussed between the two leaders.

Appeal for an economic package of Rs 2942.99 crore

CM Dhami told PM Modi the need for Rs 2942.99 crore as an economic package. According to CM Dhami, construction of 150 pre-fabricated houses, site development work and affected allowance are important for temporary relief and housing arrangements for the affected people.

Apart from this, the works to be done from this relief package include compensation for residential and commercial infrastructure, compensation for the lands of the families falling in the unsafe zone, permanent rehabilitation of the affected persons and acquisition and development of land and repair and restoration of the affected departmental infrastructure.

Dhami demanded Vande Bharat train from PM Modi

There was a meeting between PM Modi and CM Dhami of Uttarakhand for about an hour. In the meeting, Chief Minister Dhami demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to start Vande Bharat train service from Haridwar to Varanasi. He said, this will provide great convenience to the devotees and tourists. Apart from this, many other issues were discussed, including giving financial approval to Jamrani Dam Multipurpose Project and expediting the construction work of All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Rishikesh.
