The state government has approved the proposal to open 6 private universities so that the youth of Uttar Pradesh can get better higher education. In the cabinet meeting chaired by CM Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday, approval was given to open one university each in Mathura, Farrukhabad, Agra, Ghaziabad and two in Meerut. Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay said that with the opening of these universities, students will be able to get quality education. The Higher Education Minister said that the state government will give various incentives for private universities in small towns. For this, the state government will soon bring a new policy. He said that in the cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister has given instructions to make a policy for private universities in small towns.
School will have to give 25% matching grant
The way has been cleared for beautifying the dilapidated old aided secondary schools of the state. Under Project Alankar, colleges will now have to give only 25% matching grant. The remaining 75% amount will be spent by the government. Under Project Alankar, a provision of Rs 200 crore was made in the budget for the year 2022-23 for the renovation of aided schools.
A condition was placed for the aided schools that they would have to bear 50% of the amount for the construction work themselves.
In such a situation, despite the efforts of the government, the schools did not send the proposals. In view of this, the government prepared a proposal to amend the matching grant. It was approved on Tuesday. The schools will have to give 25% matching grant, in this too cooperation can be taken from CSR and MLA funds. Such schools which are more than 70 years old will be renovated. Schools will send the proposal through DIOS. Funds will be released in the ratio of 40:40:20 in three phases from the level of Director of Secondary Education.
Gratuity will be given to the family of teachers of aided secondary schools in case of their death even after the age of retirement is not filled. Teachers have to fill the option of retirement in 60 or 62 years. Those who fill the option of 62 years, they do not get the benefit of gratuity. Some teachers do not fill the options. In such a situation, on death before the age of 60, his family did not get gratuity. The amendment was approved by the cabinet.
5 bus stands will be developed on PPP model
Five bus stands of the state will be developed on PPP mode. The cabinet approved the proposal to issue letter of intent to the developers of these bus stands. Bus stands will be developed at Kaushambi (Ghaziabad), Agra Fort, Gomtinagar, Civil Lines (Prayagraj), Old Ghaziabad. A total of 23 bus stands are to be constructed on PPP mode. The state government will soon issue letter of intent for the remaining 18 bus stands.
