A government pistol and uniform were allegedly stolen from a police station in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur
On Wednesday night, while targeting the outpost, thieves stole box from next to station incharge Sudhakar Pandey, who was sleeping.
According to the information received, the box contained the government pistol of the outpost in-charge and other items including 10 live cartridges. The thieves took away the pistol and cartridges after breaking the box a hundred meters away from the post. On waking up, there was a stir in the police department over the theft of pistol and cartridges.
On the information of the incident on Thursday morning, the top officials including the captain reached along with the forensic team. The police has started scrutinizing the CCTVs installed in the surrounding areas. Also, the shopkeepers and people of the area are being questioned.
