Lucknow's Wellness City to Feature Super Specialty Hospitals and World-Class Yoga Retreats, Boosting Medical and Wellness Tourism

Lucknow News

Lucknow News: Along with super specialty hospitals and top-notch yoga retreat centres, the Lucknow Development Authority’s (LDA) Wellness City programme is poised to become a hub for wellness and healthcare. The objective of this development is to improve the infrastructure for medical education, draw investments, and provide a holistic wellness environment.

Expansion of Institutional Plots for Medical Colleges and Universities

In a recent review meeting held at the Parijat Auditorium, Advisor to the Honorable Chief Minister, Mr. Avnish Kumar Awasthi, and Mr. K.V. Raju provided valuable suggestions for the upgradation of new housing schemes. The meeting, presided over by Vice President Dr. Indramani Tripathi, focused on increasing the scope of institutional plots in the Mohan Road Scheme and Wellness City to ensure ample land availability for medical colleges, universities, and other institutions.

Blueprint for Wellness City and Other Developments

Dr. Indramani Tripathi presented detailed plans for the Wellness City on Sultanpur Road and IT City. Additionally, the Educational City under the Mohan Road Scheme and the Management Nagar Scheme on IIM Road were highlighted. The board has approved proposals related to land acquisition and compensation rates. The land acquisition will proceed based on agreements with farmers, land acquisition, and land pooling.

Mohan Road Scheme

The Mohan Road Scheme will cover 785.02 acres of land in Village-Pyarepur and Kaliakheda, with an estimated development cost of Rs. 1544 crore. The grid design used in this scheme will resemble that of Chandigarh Panchkula. In contrast, Wellness City—which is based on Medi City—will occupy about 1474 acres along Sultanpur Road. A super speciality hospital, medical college, diagnostic centre, Vipassana centre, and meditation centre will all be located in this city. In addition, the Aminabad Medicine Market is going to be moved to Wellness City.

Attracting Global Investment and Education

Mr. Avnish Awasthi emphasized the need to expand institutional plots in both schemes to boost investment and attract foreign universities to the capital. He also suggested building a Yoga Retreat Centre along with a hospital in the Wellness City, aiming to create a holistic wellness destination.
