The winter session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislature will begin from December 5. The Yogi Adityanath government will present the first supplementary budget for the financial year 2022-23 during the winter session. During this brief session, the government will get some bills passed and will also bring replacement bills for some ordinances.
Legislature was held from 19 to 23 September
It may be noted that the last session of the Legislature was held from 19 to 23 September. In the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday, the proposal of the Parliamentary Affairs Department to convene the winter session of the Legislature was approved. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna informed about this decision of the cabinet. He told that this session of the Legislature will probably last for three days. In this, mainly supplementary budget will be presented by the government. There will also be some legislative work.g
Government is trying to speed up the development works
The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh presented a budget of Rs 6,15,518.97 crore for the current financial year on May 29. The government is trying to speed up the development works in the state in view of the Lok Sabha elections to be held in the year 2024. Since there is still about three months left to present the budget for the next financial year, the government will bring a supplementary budget without losing time to speed up the development works. In the supplementary budget, necessary funds will be arranged for the ongoing schemes and projects included in the priorities of the government. Funds can also be given for some new items.
