Winter Vacation in UP Schools Extended

UP News: In response to the anticipated cold wave conditions in Uttar Pradesh, the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council (UPBEC) has declared a winter vacation for all schools in the state. The break, effective until January 14, 2024, encompasses institutions from pre-primary to class 8, including aided and recognized schools.

Comprehensive Winter Vacation Decision

The UPBEC’s winter break announcement extends from pre-primary to class 8, impacting a wide range of students and educational institutions. This comprehensive approach aims to create a consistent schedule for the winter break across the state.

Applicability to All Schools

The directive issued by BSA Dinesh Kumar, in response to government correspondence, applies to all schools in Uttar Pradesh. This includes council-run schools, as well as aided and recognized institutions, emphasizing the importance of a unified break.

Strict Enforcement Measures

District Schools Inspector Chandra K Singh has communicated government directives to principals of secondary schools conducting classes up to the 8th grade. Principals are instructed to ensure strict adherence to the winter break schedule and undertake necessary measures to enforce compliance.

IMD’s Orange Alert

The decision to close schools aligns with the Indian Meteorological Department‘s (IMD) orange alert, which predicts cold wave conditions in various parts of Uttar Pradesh in the coming days.
